I've been going to the dealership for a while now and wanted to find a local shop I could trust. Luckily I found the guys at Autobahn on Central Avenue in Albany. I went in looking for a second opinion on a job for new wheel bearings and…

Excellent work and professionalism of Greg and his technicians. Just a good feel to the place. Not snobby or pretentious. Fair pricing and VERY knowledgeable of air cooled Porsches. A satisfied customer.

My TDI died on a sub-zero January morning, and I called Autobahn before noon to explain that I thought the fuel had gelled and could they look at my car. They said yes, and I explained further that it probably wouldn't arrive until later that day, and possibly not until after closing. They told me it wasn't a problem.
Tow truck drops the car at 7:30pm, I call the shop and leave a detailed messaging including make, model, year, fuel gelling issue, and my contact information. Like any other TDI owner separated from the precious, I softly cried my self to sleep that night clutching my spare key. I waited an hour or so past when the shop opened the next morning and called to check in. Apparently, there were no messages on the machine, and my car was eighth in line.
At 5:30pm I finally received a call from the shop. They had towed my car into the shop for a couple of hours, changed the fuel filter, and were out getting diesel. They also removed an "aftermarket inline bilge pump" that they thought was both a safety hazard and part of the issue. Fifteen minutes later, they called saying that as soon as they put fuel in, the car was up and running. The service guy was willing to stay a little late so that I could pick up my car. I was appreciative.
The total bill was 211 dollars. It included an hour labor, and a 100% markup on both the fuel ($30 for five gallons) and fuel filter ($50 dollars vs. $27 @ autozone/$19 @ Rockauto).
Communication and price-tag aside, I was happy with the service. I won't hesitate to return.

Out-quoted 4 other shops in the region for the same job. Went above and beyond the transmission work I needed done and also tuned my exhaust. Car feels like new and sounds great. [2007 Audi S4]
