I had a dead battery one morning, and once getting a jump start from triple A I contacted several garages. I ended up just driving to a garage close to this one because I knew the owner, but he wasn't in and his crew was swamped for the day. They suggested I go to The Muffler Shop. Despite also being busy, and not having a great Internet connection that day I was in and out within 1hr max. Their shop reminded me of my own child hood small town garage where they were friendly and personable. Job well done guys!

Great customer service and military friendly as well! I went in on a Friday to because one side of my exhaust needed a tack weld. After 15 min job was completed, and they didn't charge me not one cent. I insisted but they just graciously said thank you for your service and sent me on my way. Awesome service and honest people! Highly recommended.

Every time I go here......exalent service and great work !!!!!!!! And they stand buy what they quote you. Most places try add on extra if stuff doesn't go right , the muffler shops sticks with there word .only exhaust shop I will go too!!!

I will never go back to this shop...I've been a customer at muffler shop since moving to Virginia, and have to have my car serviced often due to frequent long distance traveling. I've always been able to drop off my car during normal business hours, but was unable to do so the most recent time I went to the shop. I called ahead a day before and asked if they had time to look at my car and explained what services I was looking to receive (oil change, fluids checked, tires rotated, etc.). The man that spoke with me assured me that my car could be seen and that it was ok to drop off my car before normal business hours. I told him my name and make/color of my car and told him what time I would drop it off. He did not specify where to leave my car, but told me to leave my keys and filled out form in the drop box. I did what he told me to do and left my keys and form in the Dropbox and parked my car directly in front of the shop in their parking spaces. I cannot use the phone during work hours so did not call to check on my car, but returned at 4:30 pm as I had told the man I'd spoken to I would. When I got there, they had not seen my car, had no idea why I was there, and said there were no keys in the drop box. I insisted they were and explained that I had spoken to someone the day previously about dropping my car off before business hours. I waited, silently fuming, and sure enough, they came back with my keys and form from the box.... They said that drop offs need to be on the side (information not communicated to me in my conversation with the employee the previous afternoon) and said they assumed my car was parked for the other business. I did not appreciate their implication that the fault was mine. At the very least, there was a miscommunication, and a good business should try and work with their customer. I explained to them that I had to leave for a long trip at 3AM and asked if they could please at least change my oil. They flatly refused, no apology, no offer of future discounted service or, I don't know, ANY sort of incentive to return after such a ridiculous waste of my time and patience. I was floored by the complete lack of decency and consideration I received from a business that I've been loyal to for over a year now. Thank goodness I've met some really helpful neighbors here in VA beach who helped me change my OWN oil...even though they were busy and stressed over the holidays too. I've never left a negative review before for anything, but I really had that bad of an experience with this business. If you want good customer service...look for a different shop!!

I highly recommend that no one ever frequents this business. I came in for a safety inspeaction on my 3 year old car with only 22,000 miles on it, and they managed to rack up a list of reasons why this almost brand new car should fail inspection because it was "unsafe to drive". Safety inspections take 20-30 mins, this one took 50 mins. They spent that entire time looking for something wrong to charge me for, because I am a woman. Don't waste your time here. I should have known something was up when I called every other place in town and they had a full day's wait, but this place told me to come right in because there was no one else in line.

I always choose my mechanic very carefully. After a year of consistent high quality service, mastertech has earned my trust. In an industry known for shady business practices that prey upon customers with little mechanical knowledge, the folks at mastertech have shown the highest degree of integrity. To give one example, I needed an inspection and brought my vehicle in. It failed due to brakes that were extremely rusted. To pass it would need new pads and calipers on the rear tires. They gave me a quote that was in line with what other mechanics would charge, but still too much for me. I spent an afternoon replacing the parts myself and sure enough, rusted enough to lift an eyebrow or two. Once I completed the replacement I brought it in again and they performed a reinspection, at no charge to myself. Which, I was clueless about and was prepared to pay for the reinspection, but they didn't take advantage of the situation. As someone who has dealt with shady dealerships attempting to charge over $400 to put a washer on a heat shield (true story; in the end it still cost $125) I can tell you the importance of having a trustworthy mechanic. The guys at mastertech auto get a 5 star rating for their integrity, professional knowledge, and excellent customer service.

I drove all the way from NW IN before my brother's Prius shut down in Portsmouth on my way to Norfolk. I was able to start it up again, get gas, and drive around town ok but I was quite leery about driving this back to NW IN. I called around a dozen auto shops, all Toyota stores were busy till next week. Mastertech said if I could come out right away, they would run a diagnostic before day's end. So off I went. Great customer service, friendly staff, ran a diagnosis and it was nothing major to worry about but just to make sure I get gas before the empty alert triggers. Peace of mind and they didn't charge me for the diagnostic. Happy customer! If you're local, look these guys up but I'll be heading back home later this week. My dog enjoyed the wait room too!

Stacy, the owner, seems like an honest business man and an overall good person. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. He offers a military discount of 10% excluding inspections which are a flat $16 (assuming your vehicle doesn't need any work, which mine didn't!). There was almost a two hour wait but he did tell me that in advance. He is so friendly and his shop definitely beats the Honda dealership. He doesn't fix windshields but the shop next to his does and they have a good working relationship. If you need something done that he doesn't do he will get a quote from the other shop and give you a call. I will continue to use Master Tech Auto Care for my future auto service needs.

This place is as advertised. Ive brought both my vehicles there for various reasons, and basic maintenence. Had a problem with my 08 Pathfinder making weird vibrations at certain RPMs, brought it there they fixed it with my oil change for $100. The vibration came back like 6mo later and they took care of it for free. Said it was rusty components. Ill keep going here as long as i live here.

Fast reliable and honest. What else can you ask for from an auto repair shop. I have had several big jobs done at Master Auto Cars and they have been upfront and finished earlier than expected every time. I will continue to take my vehicles to them for all work that needs to be done.
