I would just like to say that my overall experience at Imlay City Auto Repair was one of the best that I have ever had they did not treat me like I was a dumb blonde they treated me with the most respect. They explained the issue with my car and told me what needed to be done to correct the problem that I was having and repaired it at a very reasonable price. They were able to do the repairs in a reasonable amount of time. I would take my car back there in a heart beat becaause of the excellent care I received.

In response to Mr. Babcock's review:
We are sorry to hear about your unsatisfactory experience with Imlay City Auto Repair. Due to the expensive nature of the repair work we were unable to perform all requested work. We are happy to perform all requested repair work so long as payment in full is available upon completion. We continually strive to provide the best service possible at fair and reasonable prices.

I have been going there for at least five and maybe seven years. I feel I have they have always been honest with me and charged a fair price. Never felt like I was being ripped off or pushed to buy something I didn't need. I've strayed a few times and gone to other repair shops but have always returned to ICAR. Several times I've called other repair shops for a repair quote over the phone and ICAR has beat their quote by a few bucks and once by more that $100. Humble repair shop with good people.

Prompt professional staff. The only fix what is they are asked too instead of trying get enough money to retire from each customer. Very important for auto repair shops to be honest. This place is.

Our car was taken in and they fixed it immediately, were extremely helpful and professional, and did not try to sell us unnecessary repairs. We appreciated their prompt and professional service!

Terrible repair shop you take your vehicle in tell them what you want them to fix they keep the car for 2 or 3 days when you coming to pick it up they tell you that they didn't fix anything on your car but maybe one item on a list you gave them to fix not happy at all I will never go there again

I took my car to Imlay City Auto Repair less than three monthes ago to have my breaks fixed at the behest of my car lease company Clean Cars and Credit. They squeaked every day since. The mechanic told me it was normal and would eventually go away. I tried to be patient but when my breaks started grinding last week I decided to call. I was told by the woman on the phone to come in monday between 12 and 1. When I arrived at 12:20 she asked me if I could leave the car. I said no you didn't specify that I would need to leave the car. She went behind their office wall and came back a few seconds later. She said if you can't leave it your gonna have to come back tomorrow. I said thats bullshit. I called and made an appointment and I spend a lot of gas money coming all this way to give you my business. The mechanic came from behind the wall and angrily ripped the car keys from my hand and said "Fine we'll fucking look at it." and stormed out the door. I said "are you fucking kidding me." The woman began to try and say that it wasn't their fault that they couldn't fit me in and that they didn't know I was coming. She tried to tell me it was my fault. I said I don't want that guy working on my car if he is going to be like that and I followed him to my car. He was already in my car and had it on, as I passed behind it he started backin up. I moved out of the way and banged on my window. He opened the window. At this point I was in tears. I said "get out of my car. I don't want you working on my car." He proceeded to tell me he had had a bad day and that I was insulting his receptionist. I said I wasn't insulting her, I am a customer who made an appointment and then was told oops sorry come back tomorrow and then you ripe the keys from my hand. You guys are being unprofessional. He said he was sorry and to trust him and that he'd take a look at it and went to drive my car for a minute or two. He came back and drove it into the garage. I went back into the office and was discussing the unprofessional manner which I'd been treated and apparently the receptionist was listening because she came into the room and said look if you are gonna just complain and talk bad about us and not trust us, I'll tell him to take your car down right now and you can go. I said I am allowed to be irritated with the way I've been treated. She basically told us to shut up or leave and I told her to fine give me my car and go. Then I went to Clean Cars and Credit to tell them how their exclusove auto repair place had treated me, and they proceeded to have no concern, compassion or offer any help. They spoke to me like I was the problem. Again I left there in tears and now am set on trying to find a different car before January. They were so unprofessional and rude that I was on the verge of driving my car through their building. They had a rough day and thats how they tried to justify treating me like garbage and then tried to tell me it wasn't their fault that it was mine. Please avoid this place and tell your friends to avoid them to. I never take the time to write negative reviews, I'm much more likely to take the time to write positive reviews of places that give excellent service, but my experience with these two companies has been so bad that it is worth it to spread the word!
