I was at the end of a 1 day project gone wrong. So, when I arrived at mesa muffler on day 6 of my 1 day project. I was frustrated. Bud. What a guy.. I must admit, at first, I thought he came off like a jerk. However, I was VERY VERY wrong. He wears a look about him, but he is super cool. I was pleasently suprised in how helpful and cool he really was. I brought him a EGR Pipe that wouldnt fit any longer.
I cut it, had him weld it up. He wouldnt charge me. Since i hadnt measured, I guessed on the last attempt, It was wrong, and when I returned the next day with my flawlessly scored and aligned piece. He welded it up, quick style. And he was so busy he wouldnt charge me. I told him that it was starting to upset me that I couldnt pay him for the work he was doing, to which he replied, " I Know".
Well, on day 10. ( i know) i drove the truck in and had him weld the exhaust from CAT back. And then, he only charged me 35 bucks. Ya total him did like 10 mins of actual work, but thats not how you judge machine shop/mechanical work.
This shop is OLD SCHOOL. Very Neat. Open.
He is beyond knowledgeable.
The next time I need something welded or muffler work.

This is the second time Bud has worked on an exhaust system for me. He does lots of custom work, including adding OEM dual exhaust to my 2007 Cadillac Escalade. He can do anything on exhaust systems and his prices are very reasonable.

Was charged $150 to install oem dual exhaust from single. Only had to do a couple of welds and install rubber grommets.
Guy who worked on my car never talked to me until the job was done. I asked my tips to be welded a little bit out, he looked at me like I was crazy.
Went back next day because the whole exhaust was moving and swinging left to right, shop said its normal.
Till now it swings, hits my rear bumper from time to time. System is now leaking in the middle from the welds and did a crappy weld job mounting the tips.
Nothing really special about this place.

I have been in here twice over the years and the shop had done excellent work on my cars . I went in recently for his advice on a resonator delete and X-pipe fabrication for my 2007 Maserati QP. He advised me against going the direction I was thinking saying that the x-pipe dimension I wanted to use would leak.I got a second opinion in Newport Beach that said it wouldn't leak and I went ahead with it through Newport shop. Guess what, Bud had been right. The thing totally leaked exhaust and the shop in Newport cant do much to fix it. I should have listened to Bud and I will be using him for a complicated 2007 escalade single to dual exhaust conversion which involves the resonator and spare tire delete and running the exhaust through cut outs in the new bumper. Not the type of job for just any shop.

I was quoted a $1,200 repair by Nissan to repair a damaged muffler/exhaust. I needed another quote, so I went to Mesa Muffler.
Bud was FANTASTIC, and took care great care of my car, at an unbeatable price.
I cannot say how thankful I am for people who not only work hard and get the job done, but know how to care for their customers with kindness.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
Worst work I've ever had done on a classic car!!
"Bud" gave me complete attitude when I told him the way I wanted the exhaust done on my vehicle. Saying he's been doing this for 40 yrs and no one was going to tell him what to do.
What an arrogant ass!!
Well when I got the car back he had ignored my instructions and did it his way which was completely wrong!! He didn't use the orig clamps I provided, put the hangers in backwards and bent the hell out of the hangers to make them fit. This made the exhaust hang way too low.
TOTAL INCOMPETENCE. I would give them zero stars if I could!

These guys are the best!!
I went to them a little less than a year ago to have some full length subframe connectors on my 00 Mustang GT. Car was done in about an hour and its like night and day w/ these welded on FLSFC's!
I recently went back to these guys to have them install some new mufflers for my GT. I previously had Flowmaster Superflow 44's installed by Automotive Excellence. Those guys are good but waaaaay expensive. So I decided to head to Mesa Mufflers to see what they could do for me. They charged me about half as much and were done in nearly an hour or less. I had SLP LM1's installed and wow, they are loud!!
I highly recommend Mesa Mufflers. The guys there are honest, hard-working guys who know what they are doing!!

So I took the car to another shop in Westminster, and needless to say, the leak and rattle were caused by one of the points Bud failed to weld.
And this shop didn't even charge me any money.. Bud charged $40 for a 5 min work on me for comparison.

These guys are awesome! Russ and Bud are professional, friendly and VERY generous.
Back in 2011 I first came here for a catalytic converter replacement. Russ took the car in and got the job done QUICKLY. He was very FRIENDLY and I chatted him up about the business, which he told me was his dad's, and they've been in the business since the early 60's (explains their charming earth-tone paint job on the place).

Now, I won't say that they'll do this for everyone, but in the past year I've brought in my car on two separate occasions and BOTH times I was ACCOMMODATED on short notice AND given service for FREE!!!

The first time, I heard a rattle and brought it in, thinking it was the cat losing some of its honeycomb. Without hesitation, Russ took the car, inspected it, cut the previous weld, and found the cat was fine but my O2 sensor (the original OEM from '93) was fried and the pieces had been rattling around. He re-welded it in about 5 minutes and was done, free of charge. No matter how much I insisted I pay him something he just smiled and politely refused. Awesome!
The second time was recently when my car stopped a smog test because the test detected a leak in the exhaust system. So once again I brought my car in to Russ on short notice and he inspected it and gave it the OK, yet again free of charge! He told me the people at the smog test were either being overly cautious or had faulty equipment. Sure enough, I had the car re-tested and it passed without any issues - it was a fluke in their computer system!
Hands down Mesa Muffler and the two guys running it, Russ and Bud, are awesome. Get to know them, show them respect, and they'll work wonders for you!

I just installed my aftermarket exhaust a few days ago and was having some fitment issues and also needed to get the studs pounded out of my cat-converter and put new bolts in. The mid-pipe was hitting the bottom of my car I could feel it through my shifter, and the rear hanger was also hitting the chassis.
I went in today at around 1PM and they told me it was going to be around an hour, so I stopped by the close-by Harbor Center(btw there are lots of stuff to do around), got back in half an hour and wow they were done!
The people here are really nice! Very helpful and gave me a REALLY good deal for this kind of work.
Even though my rear hanger is still hitting my chassis..the mid-pipe is lowered and not hitting the bottom of my car AND the new bolts are put in, all with a really fair price and good service attitudes.
So, 5 stars for them! Definitely will be back if need some exhaust work!

Referred by Stillen not mad at them but damn this old fart is a piece of work. At the end of the day it's his business. Went in to check the welds on my camaro since it got an resonator delete just to make sure my guy didn't mess up, willing to pay but man O man what a waste of time. I was so shocked by his attitude I could help but laugh my butt off in my car. Goodluck if you come here.

Five stars for Mesa Muffler. I had to get my smog done for my car and my exhaust was making a funny sound so i brought it over to Mesa Muffler. They could have easily told me that I needed to replace my muffler or possibly my whole exhaust, but instead the mechanic found out that the rattling he heard was from my heat shield touching my exhaust. He not only stopped the rattling, but he didn't charge me anything.
He told me to go and try and get my smog passed and then come back to see if I needed any work done. And it did. He very easily could have charged me for unecessary work and I wouldn't have had a clue since I don't know very much about cars. Thanks a lot Mesa Muffler. You better be sure I will be back when I need work done from you guys!

Was quoted nearly $2K for a tail pipe/muffler replacement down the street at Toyota...they were nice enough to refer me to Mesa and I couldn't be happier. Within a few hours my car was fixed for $40. Speedy, honest and a great deal.

Needed to match up the downpipe from my custom Passat TDI to the rest of the exhaust. Bud did a great job lining everything up and set me up with a nice bracket off the transmission. Took under an hour, as promised. :)

These guys absolutely rock. I had a new Flowmaster muffler & Magnaflow cat installed on my '93 454 G30 RV. Russ took the time to look the entire exhaust system over and replaced the two flange gaskets @ the Y pipe while he was at it.
I had stopped by earlier in the day to get an estimate - it was very fair, so I brought my RV over after lunch. Russ & Bud got right on it - 1.5 hours later, it was finished out the door for the quoted price.
Even better, I think I actually gained a few horses - the dang RV can now gun it off the line. LOL
Very mellow crew who know what they're doing. No stress, no fuss & no muss.

I know, I know, the o'l skeptical me that has frequented mostly dealers mu entire driving life has been awakened! Who would have thought a little bolt on aftermarket exhaust for a Smart Car could have done sooooo much damage.....and cost so much to repair! Welding, sheared bolt removal, all in this compact confined space they call the engine compartment of the tiny Smart car, I was in and out in 38 minutes at 1/10 of the cost. Scowering the country for parts both from dealers and salvage yards, the cost would have been 90% higher if I would have ordered the parts and tried to fix it myself.....not to mention the additional heartache, frustration, and broken parts! Russ was amazing! No BS, this is what it is, DONE! Love it!

Took my Lexus here to fix a rattling noise underneath my car. The guy (forgot his name) looked underneath and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. The guy was very nice and said he wouldn't charge me but I insisted on paying. The guy didn't try to rip me off and was very honest. I give this place my highest recommendation.

This place rocks! I had a header back exhaust put on my 65 mustang. The welds are top notch, and the exhaust pipes are tucked under the car as far as possible without touching. The mufflers they suggested (based on my input) are perfect.

Definitely the place to go for muffler work! Bud did an excellent job installing a Magnaflow muffler and changing the diameter of the pipes. He was easy to work with; provided information and recommendations; and did a professional job quickly and efficiently!!!
I called around for quotes and Mesa Muffler was one of the lower quotes. I decided to use them because of Yelp's recommendations and talking to Bud over the phone!!!

Awesome service, had Bud take a look at raising the resonator; great work and very honest. Said it would take him 2 hours to finish up a few other cars and then another hour to finish the work.
