Always a great experience! We have two cars that we trusted the Stephens team to inspect, repair and maintain. The quality of the work and their customer service is TOP notch. Not only they are very knowledgeable in auto technology but they took the time and explained things very well so even me - as a woman with no auto knowledge - I was able to understand what was going on with my car. Above and beyond comes to my mind when I am trying to describe the level of their service.

My wife last had her oil changed at Jiffy Lube and the metal plate located underneath that protects was not bolted back on and was dragging on the concrete under the vehicle.The staff at Stephens Automotive told me that they would pound out the damaged cover and put in four new bolts since only one was still remaining.I was told no charge and sent on my way in about 15 minutes.I gave I believe Jessie 20 bucks and thanked him for his intregity and prompt service.Just thought I would let Joe know on Friday afternoon his staff crawled under my vehicle and fixed my wife's Honda CRV on a very very cold Friday afternoon...Thanks

Joe runs a very nice honest shop, they are a full service automotive repair facility in Palatine.

So the starter for my car stopped working - out of nowhere on a busy day with client appointments! Stephens Automotive towed it quickly, and was able to get it fixed in an extremely-timely manner, and priced it reasonably. I am always impressed with their efficiency, and professionalism. Thank you for being fair, through my experiences over the years (prior to utilizing Stephens Automotive), I was not always treated fairly by other auto repair businesses (aka - overcharged!) I will always give my business to Stephens Automotive. Thank you!

I took my car in a few yeas ago. I had just bought it to find out it needed $3000 in work while they were right about the issues. I had left some paper work behind and when I went back in I walked in to to hear the receptionist was actually talking bad about me being a handful when I was just upset. About my car. I took my business elsewhere so I cannot speak to how well of a job they do as mechanics but personally I did not feel comfortable with their lack of professionalism.

If you ever wanted a good ol' boy mechanic that you can trust without being swindled. This my friends, is the place you want to do business. A small town home grown feel is what you get when you walk through these doors. The staff is friendly and really know what they are talking about. Did I mention how handsome they all are? Worth checking out... Even if you just want your oil changed. ;o)

This shop used to be decent, honest and friendly. My last few experiences with them have been pretty bad. They are very pushy to get unnecessary maintenance costs on the service order with bad tactics. Sometimes it's deceiving their cost is below dealer's shop. Moreover, they constantly schedule good technicians to to work on more lucrative Comcast cars instead of non-corporate customers. I'd avoid them. There are many good shops on the Colfax road.

Taken my car here a few times and always had great service, and they tell you costs up front. I have never had the feeling that the prices were unfair either. They guarantee their work and are willing to help work with the customer when your schedule doesn't allow you to get your car before they close.
