Just starting to find out what Tyler actually did to my Jetta two years ago. Had the rack and pinion replaced by him and it started leaking out of the gear box in less than two years. Called him about a warranty and there is nothing he could do. This in a 100k + mile part. I just pulled off the leaking Thermostat housing/ water outlet that he said he replaced (I have a receipt for it) and it is packed full of blue liquid gasket and missing all of the correct O rings. ... I originally went to this mechanic on Madison who mentioned I needed a new car battery ASAP. As a broke college student, I got a second opinion. My friend recommended this place, I checked it out and the guy said my battery was good for at least another TWO YEARS. This guy has been my mechanic for five years now.

We sputtered into Tyler's parking lot last year after our car began failing. After making an 8 hour trip back from OH with my daughter, we had stopped at the closest garage. I didn't know him from Adam and was extremely nervous. I had just lost my job and could ill afford 3-4K for a new transmission. Tyler looked at the car and told me that if it was, what he thought it was, the repair shouldn't be too bad. I was almost in tears when I went home so upset over the bad timing of this. He wound up replacing a pipe that had rusted out that led to the transmission -- I think the whole repair was like $270. He really saved the day- and still driving same car... I know everybody's car problems are different, but what I can say about Our Planet and Tyler is that he and his family run business is: friendly, honest and professional.

It's great to have a mechanic that's got your back and that is definitely the case with Tyler at Our Planet Auto Services. He is reliable, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and I love that he focuses on being an environmentally conscious business. I usually take my car to him for oil changes, but this weekend I had a dire situation where my car broke down on my way to the airport and wouldn't start. My flight was in 1.5 hours and I panicked. I called Tyler who contacted a tow truck who got there in 15 minutes and towed it directly to the garage. Tyler repaired my car while I was out of town and it was ready for pick up when I returned 2 days later. I trust Our Planet Auto Services and will take my car there for all future repairs and maintenance.
