Top regard to honesty in the area. They have done service and repairs on all 7 vehicles we own. They are affordable and they get it done right. We have also purchased reliable used vehicles from them. Scott Millet and Doug Hawker are longtime personal friends and I highly recommend them.

What a great experience! This was my experience at Hawker Automotive on Sunset. I have a Ford Truck and I guess the spark plugs in this particular truck can break off if not taken out correctly. If they break it cost a whole lot more to remove. I called around and talked to different shops including the Ford Dealership, all said it was going to be expensive and time consuming. I just did not feel like anyone was being honest which made me think they were just going to tell me no matter what that one of the spark plugs broke so pay up. Then I called Hawker and got a very honest straight answer to my questions, so I decided to take a chance. I am so happy I did because the service was great and they did not break any plugs. My truck runs better then it ever has! The cost for the service was more then fair. Hopefully I will not be back anytime soon but if something does goes wrong I have my local mechanic whom I can trust.

My oh my if we only had Hawker Automotive back at home! I love the one I go to now. But these guys are so personable it's refreshing. We were on a family trip to Zion and we had a car issue and thank you Yelp for another successful recommendation. The guys there Scott, Doug, and Ray were very honest. They told us different ways we could opt for to fixing our car and didn't try to up sell us or anything. We went for the least expensive fix and they didn't make us feel terrible about our option. But instead just fixed the car! And all the while we talked to Scott like we were old friends:) My boyfriend and I really appreciate the hospitality and genuiness of this business. After having the AC serviced just before we left LA, it dies suddenly about an hour out of town. We're headed first to Idaho and then to Wyoming and we're going to do all that, in August, without AC?
"Flexible" he whispers in his best Sandra Tsing Loh voice. "We're going to be flexible".
We get to Wyoming a little sticky and windblown but otherwise fine but now the car is making horrible noises.
The local guys confirm that we'll need a new AC compressor but they can't get the part before we plan to leave. So now it's time to work the phones. First AAA to find an approved shop in our next destination, St George. Then check Yelp to confirm that they're rated highly. Then call Scott at Hawker Auto and explain our situation. I give him all the particulars and he says that he'll get the part ordered so that it's waiting about the time we arrive.
We roll in with a serpentine belt that can be yanked off the pulleys by hand and pray that the engine isn't shot.
Two days later after some parts supplier drama of his own Scott calls to say that the car's ready and the bill is within $2 of his original estimate.
Turns out the the engine's fine. Thank you God for a cooling system not connected to the serpentine belt! And the air conditioning works so well that we can get uncomfortably cold in August!

Came to St Geroge for the weekend and right when we got here our car decided to over heat. Came to Hawker and was greeted by Scott. He helped us right away, gave us positive fibes, and fixed the car. He was honest and friendly. They also let you stand there and watch them look at your car and talk you through it so you know you're not getting screwed over. If I lived here I would bring my cars here every time. It's nice to come across honest decent people/mechanics!

While driving from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles the battery warning light came on in my Acura. After pulling into Cedar City to find a service station with a mechanic on duty (oh, you can only get beverages, chips, candy and greasy food in those old service bays now) and to get gas the car wouldn't start.....dead. Called AAA for a tow (have the 100 mile tow membership as my last break down cost me $300 to tow from Jean to Las Vegas) and Yelped for a mechanic in St. George. Decided to have car towed to Hawker. Left key in overnight drop off. He called me at 8:00 as soon as they opened and asked me for the full story. He guessed it was the alternator, which was replaced only 18 months ago. He offered me two choices, the better being $50 more. He then said, I'll get you the better one for the same price and will have your car ready by noon so you can get back on the road. Scott was sympathetic, honest and detailed about the issue. He did call me back at noon and let me know a couple of other automotive issues with my car that I should have addressed soon, but didn't try to hard sell me to have them done at Hawkers. The shop was clean and the price $463 was fair and he gives AAA Discounts too.

They have the best prices I have seen in Southern Utah alone. Doug does not pressure you, or follow you 2 inches behind every second. He actually lets you take a look at a car. And lastly, they are good honest mechanical and thorough people. Now, where do you ever see that anymore?
I have been to pushy dealerships that ask you 1,000 questions the second you step on the lot, questions about "how much per month do you want to pay?" and "who's buying a car today?" Yet, they cannot answer a historic or mechanical question about a single car.
Hawker Automotive is so much of a better place to shop for a used car. They are mechanics so they know what they are talking about. This is an excellent place to purchase a used vehicle. I will come here again for my next vehicle.

awesome place! my 75 yr old mother needed a rear seal for her jeep done - they quoted a super great price over the phone to me in southern CA, they even offered to drive her home after she dropped off the jeep! great communication, super trustworthy and the best mechanics. They do not try to take advantage of anyone!!! yes, I'm going to say it - I trust them!!!

It's often difficult to find an automotive repair business that you are comfortable with recommendations for repairs and costs and necessary and fairly priced. My experience with Hawker has been exceptional. I feel I can take my vehicles for service and/or repairs, and will ALWAYS get a fair and reasonable diagnosis of problems and options for repairs. I consider the owners fair and definitely do business with honesty and integrity. I would recommend any one I know to use Hawker for any of their automotive needs.
